My Etsy banner... story of an handmade creation

When I've decide to start my adventure on Etsy, the famous site to "buy and sell all things handmade", I was, without success, looking for the shop banner because it's an important element, it's like the sign of I real shop! I was looking for some idea that represented my creations, the objects that I realize at the moment and those that I will create with the same or different media, or with different styles, sometimes funny and cute, sometimes elegant, sometimes experimental!

So I have decided to direct create by myself what I had in mind! I have begun with a sketch, then I've realized, made of clay, microscopic little flowers (something cute!), a floral swirl (something elegant!), a birdie (only 4 mm high) on a too big flower (something funny!); then I've used the scanner to upload the image but it was not a good idea (out of focus!), so I have taked some photos, assembled and modified with a photo retouching software (with some difficulties and a good help!), found a beautiful font, maked with the low resolution requested by the site and....... finally..... voilà (you can see it clicking here)!

Quando ho deciso di iniziare la mia avventura con Etsy, il famoso sito americano che consente di vendere ed acquistare oggetti realizzati a mano, stavo cercando, senza successo, il banner per il negozio on-line. E' un elemento importante, come lo è l'insegna di un negozio reale. Cercavo qualche idea che rappresentasse le mie creazioni, gli oggetti che attualmente realizzo e quelli che creerò con gli stessi o diversi materiali, con diversi stili, a volte divertenti e carini, a volte eleganti, a volte sperimentali!

Così ho deciso di creare direttamente io stessa ciò che avevo in mente! Ho iniziato con uno schizzo per poi realizzare con la pasta modellabile, microscopici fiorellini, una voluta fiorita (qualcosa di elegante!), un uccellino, alto solo 4 mm, su un fiore troppo grande (qualcosa di divertente!). Successivamente ho utilizzato uno scanner per acquisire l'immagine, ma non è stata una buona idea (sempre sfuocata!), così ho scattato delle foto, acquisite al PC, assemblate e modificate con un programma di fotoritocco (non senza difficoltà e un bell'aiuto!), trovato un bel font, modificato nella bassa risoluzione richiesta dal sito e..... finalmente..... voilà (lo si può veder bene cliccando qui! (comunque è stata una faticaccia!)
